Winter Grant Cycle Recipients

SALINA, Kan.— The Greater Salina Community Foundation recently awarded over $50,000 to 15 charitable projects and organizations through its competitive winter grant cycle.

This year's grant recipients include funding toward supporting renovations to serve the community, youth educational programs, and strengthening community outreach programs.

This cycle’s grant recipients include the following:

  • Sunrise Presbyterian Church, $5,000, to support the CASTLE Project Art Enrichment for 2025.
  • Salina Initiative for Restorative Justice, $5,000, for administrative support.
  • Central Kansas Mental Health Center, $2,000, to support the purchase of Narcan distribution boxes and blood pressure monitors.
  • Love, Chloe Foundation, $1,200, to support registrations for childhood cancer families for the 2025 Family Fun Run Event.
  • USD 305, $1,800, to renew the district-wide subscription to BookBreak, which provides virtual author visits.
  • Little Samaritans Child Development Center, Inc., $3,961.40, to help purchase flooring, garage doors, and openers.
  • Blessed Hope Family, Inc., $2,500, to support education and trainings, offerings for families, volunteers, and the community.
  • StartingPoint Preschool, $2,254.94, to purchase educational material, technology, art supplies, and organization supplies.
  • Coronado Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, $2,175, to purchase outdoor equipment.
  • USD 307 Ell-Saline Schools, $10,000, to support the Ell-Saline Elementary Playground Renovation Project.
  • Salina Rescue Mission, $5,000, to help purchase a new commercial dryer.
  • Salina Shares, $5,000, to support Laundry Love.
  • Episcopal Social Services, Inc., $4,631, to support Resilience Clubhouse with the purchase of laptops.
  • Cornerstone Classical School, $3,384.83, to purchase classroom art supplies.

This round of grants was made possible by five funds at the community foundation: the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, which supports projects and programs that improve the community’s quality of life; the Kansas Health Foundation Fund, which supports the public health of Saline County; the Fund for Greater Salina which supports funds used for a variety of charitable causes that positively impact the community; the Fund for Early Childhood Care, Education, and Development which supports efforts to better prepare children in Ottawa and Saline counties for kindergarten; and the L.P. “Pat” Mullen Fund, which supports hands-on learning opportunities for youth in the areas of arts and humanities and science, technology and invention.
